What is a web browser?

A web browser is a software that exists on everyone's computers which allows one to view websites. Examples of web browsers are Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Opera.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is your website's address on the internet. An example of a domain name is crispsites.com, google.com or wikipedia.org.

When you enter a domain name in your web browser, your request is forwarded to the computer that resides at that address. That computer sends the information you requested and your web browser displays that information.

What is web hosting?

Web hosting refers to the service that is provided by a company that stores your website on their computers. Their computers are always available, so that when someone wants to visit your website, it too is always available.
